Congratulations to Villanova MPA alumna Frances Burns (’99) on receiving the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences 2013 Graduate Alumni Medallion!

“The LAS Alumni Medallion is an annual award given to recognize the accomplishments of select graduates, identified by faculty, staff and alumni of the College, who have excelled in their professional endeavors.  It also honors LAS graduates who have demonstrated service to their communities and to the University.”

“Frances Burns has held a variety of fascinating positions in government and the non-profit world.  She is a passionate, engaged and dedicated public servant who exemplifies Villanova’s values of service, community and the common good.  She is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the School District of Philadelphia.

Frances is an active and engaged alum of Villanova’s MPA program, as the honored speaker at the first Pi Alpha Alpha fall colloquium a few years back, and as a panel member last spring.  She has hosted interns from the MPA Program, and will be an instructor in the online program as well.”  – villanova.edu/artsci
