Just Announced! Philadelphia Public Policy Case Competition

What can the City of Philadelphia do to further attract and retain millennials?

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is asking students to answer that question. The inaugural Philadelphia Public Policy Case Competition is open to graduate and undergraduate students and will create an opportunity for students to engage directly with public policy at the city level by creating a policy proposal.

Teams of two to five are invited to design a proposal to answer the Case Challenge question:

The city’s population of 20- to 34-year olds has increased by 100,000 from 2006 through 2012. In recent years, Philadelphia boasts the largest growth of millennials of any major city in the United States. We want to continue to respond to and address the needs of these new Philadelphians. With this in mind, the case challenge will be:

What can the City of Philadelphia do to further attract and retain millennials?

The top four teams will be invited to a reception in City Hall, and the top team will receive a meeting with Mayor Nutter to discuss the proposal as well as tickets to the Mayor’s box for the Phillies game on April 12th. Click here for full instructions, and follow this link to enter.
