Meet Sarah, a current student in our MPA program! Sarah is in her last semester of the MPA program, working as a full-time Multimedia Production Specialist with UNIT. She lives in South Philly, is married with three young kids (ages 4, 6, and 9) that all attend a democratic school in South Philadelphia. We asked her a few questions about her time at Villanova!
1) What do you think is the most valuable aspect of Villanova’s MPA program?
There are a lot of benefits to the MPA program at Villanova – what I have enjoyed and valued the most from the program is the ability to apply the skills learned in the classroom the very next day on the job. I also love how all of the professors are experts with real-life experience to back up their teachings.
2) How has your time with the MPA program thus far helped you in your career?
Since the classroom skills are directly applicable to work in almost any organization, I can see the benefits of my education directly impacting my career immediately. I’ve also been lucky enough to apply these skills to my role as president of the board of trustees of Philly Free School.
3) What is your favorite thing about the Nova Nation?
Nova Nation has been amazing on the whole. What I continue to be amazed at on a daily basis is the continued sense of community and the consistent and unfaltering support from community members. I have always felt that this support system is one of a kind, and just part of what makes Villanova so special.
BIG news! Today we are launching our first ever “MPA Your Way” photo competition! ALL students (online and on campus) are welcome and encouraged to participate! The details for the competition are below.
This is a great way to show off your MPA pride! Need we mention that the top two submissions will receive a prize? (An awesome one, by the way). Let’s have some fun! #MPAYourWay
